🚴 Navigating the Path to Elite Strength Training for Cyclists: Where I've been 🚴

Greetings, fellow seekers of strength and cycling excellence! It's been quite a stretch since my last entry in November 2022, and oh boy, has 2023 been a whirlwind of change and growth for both my practice and the athletes I've had the pleasure of working with. So, let's dive into the pages of my unfolding story – one that's a bit less polished and a bit more human.

After a healthy dose of pondering and soul-searching, I set out on a mission to find a new physical space that resonated with my values. A place where community, collaboration, fresh ideas, and a true team atmosphere could thrive – you know, all those things that went into hibernation during the COVID era. And guess what? Courtesy of a timely Pinkbike Podcast, I hit the jackpot in January when I heard about a new Gym in Squamish.

Meanwhile, as I stepped bravely into my 40th year, I could hardly anticipate the twists and turns that awaited me. Coaching 40 athletes online in 2023? If you had told me that a year ago, I'd probably have choked on my coffee. But here we are, and let's just say it's been a journey of growth that even surprised me. My Performance Program, born out of equal parts necessity and determination, has now ventured into its fourth year. more mountain bikers from Aspiring World Cup racers to the everyday adventurers chasing epic rides, the program has morphed into something I never imagined. Even more astonishing, some of my original clients have transformed from seasonal participants to year-round enthusiasts. Who would've thought?

Now, let's chat about the twist that made this chapter truly interesting. Brace yourselves – in January, I switched gyms. Yes, you read that right. In a classic "leap and hope the net appears" move, I teamed up with Joel Harwood and the BluePrint Athlete Development crew. Toss in Adam Luu and the best physio team in the Sea to Sky region, and you've got yourself a recipe for, well, something pretty special.

Speaking of special, I can't neglect to mention my experiences with Blueprints elite mountain bikers on actual trails. Imagine me – not the most skilled rider – trying to keep up with these animals. It's been humbling, to say the least. But I've learned fundamental coaching skill that have directly helped my strength coaching as well as my personal riding. And guess what? It's reaffirmed my belief that strength training isn't just an option for cyclists; it's a necessity. Who knew I'd be a walking, or should I say a pedaling, testament to that?

So, as we gear up for the upcoming season, here's the newsflash: I'm ready to welcome 30 new remote clients for the 2024 journey not all at once. I just have room to onboard a few per month. If you're a an aspiring pro, or just an enthusiastic Joe or Jo' I'm more confident than ever that I'm the guy to help you bust through to new levels next year. If you're ready to do the work and you just need the plan and some support along the way, look no further.

In closing, this has been one of those years where you just look around and know you're exactly where you need to be. If you're ready to embark on this adventure, don't hesitate to reach out. Let's make the upcoming season a chapter worth writing about – together. 🚵‍♂️📖
